A bifold door is a type of door that is hinged in the center, allowing it to fold in half when opened. It is typically made up of two panels or more connected by hinges. Bifold doors are commonly used for closets, room dividers, and as an exterior door leading to a patio or garden.
Bifold doors operate by folding along a central hinge. When opened, the panels fold against each other, creating a compact and space-saving design. This allows for a wider opening than traditional swinging doors and is ideal for areas with limited space.
The Metal & Hammer Bifold Door is incredibly secure.
We manufacture the doors to offer outstanding security features, including:
Bi-fold doors can be configured to open inwards or outwards depending on your preference. What this means is when the doors are folded back, the panels will either sit inside your home or open onto your outdoor space.
Metal & Hammer makes our bifold doors out of aluminum because it’s:
Aluminum bifold doors are the most durable and hence the longest lasting. They have a life expectancy of about 45 years, far outlasting any other material.
Our Bifold Doors come in White or Matte Black. However, it is possible to get a custom bifold made with custom colors for an extra cost.
Bifold doors help light to filter through your home and open up space. This generally makes your home look more desirable which can add value when you come to sell.

A pivot door is a type of door that rotates on a pivot point, typically positioned at the top and bottom of the door rather than on hinges on the side. This design allows the door to pivot smoothly around a central point, facilitating a unique and stylish opening mechanism. Pivot doors are often used for entrance doors or large doors in contemporary or modern architectural designs. They can provide a sense of openness and can be visually striking due to their unconventional operation.
Aluminum pivot doors offer several advantages, including lightweight construction, resistance to rust and corrosion, low maintenance requirements, and the ability to be customized in various styles and finishes.
Yes, A double-paned pivot door is a door with two layers of glass panes separated by a space filled with air or insulating gas, in our case we use Argon Gas. This design enhances thermal insulation and soundproofing compared to single-pane doors. Double-paned pivot doors are often chosen for their energy efficiency and ability to provide a quieter indoor environment.
Aluminum pivot doors are generally low maintenance due to the material's resistance to corrosion. Double-paned doors may require occasional cleaning of the glass surfaces. Regular inspection of hinges and seals is recommended to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
